AC Milan have reportedly agreed to a deal with Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim. He will replace outgoing manager Massimiliano Allegri on a two-year contract with an option for a third year. Amorim's appointment was confirmed after weeks of speculation, with the manager having impressed the club's hierarchy.
The move for Amorim comes after a tumultuous period for Milan's managerial position. Formerly mooted candidate Ralf Rangnick reportedly fell out of favour with the club, and his proposed move never came to fruition. Meanwhile, outgoing Juventus manager Allegri had apparently recommended young Moroccan midfielder Ismael Bouaddi to the club.
Amorim's arrival could have implications for the club's existing players. Star winger Rafael Leao recently made comments suggesting he may be open to a departure, while veteran midfielder Luka Modric is yet to decide on his future. Modric's renewal is reportedly dependent on his discussions with Amorim.
The club's transfer business is expected to pick up pace in the coming weeks, with Amorim set to play a key role in identifying targets. The Milan hierarchy, including CEO Furlani and sporting director Moncada, will work closely with the new manager to strengthen the squad.
