AC Milan are set to welcome new manager Ruben Amorim in early July, as the club looks to bounce back from a disappointing season. Amorim has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, and will begin working with the team at Milanello in mid-July. The Portuguese tactician will be tasked with restoring the team's fortunes, after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Gerry Cardinale, AC Milan's owner, recently met with Pope Francis, where they discussed the intersection of sports, technology, and artificial intelligence. Cardinale expressed his admiration for the Pope's vision, and hinted at potential collaboration between RedBird and the Vatican. This meeting highlights Cardinale's ambition to expand AC Milan's influence beyond football, into culture and international relations.
AC Milan's midfield is expected to undergo significant changes, with Ardon Jashari poised to become a key player under Amorim. The Swiss midfielder, who joined the club last summer, will likely form a partnership with Adrien Rabiot in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation. With several players potentially leaving, Jashari could become a cornerstone of the new-look AC Milan.
In terms of transfers, Amorim has reportedly identified Pedro Gonçalves as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao. Gonçalves, who has already worked with Amorim at Sporting Lisbon, is known for his versatility and impressive goal tally. With a valuation of around 25-30 million euros, the deal could be facilitated by AC Milan's good relationship with Jorge Mendes.
