AC Milan is setting its sights on Portuguese winger Pedro Gonçalves, currently playing for Sporting CP. Gonçalves, also known as 'Pote', has caught the attention of new coach Ruben Amorim, who sees him as a potential reinforcement for his side. The 27-year-old winger has a contract with Sporting CP until 2030, but he is reportedly open to a move to Milan.
Gonçalves is a right-footed attacking midfielder who can play both as a pure attacking midfielder and as a winger. He is known for his speed, dribbling skills, and excellent long-range shot. In 27 games last season, he scored 13 goals and provided eight assists. His ability to run forward without the ball, excellent vision, and set piece expertise make him an attractive target for Milan.
However, convincing Sporting CP to sell Gonçalves will not be easy, and Milan may need to part with a significant amount of money, potentially around €30m. The sale of Santiago Gimenez or Rafael Leao could be a prerequisite or help tip the balance in Milan's favor. Gonçalves's profile suggests he could be a valuable addition to the Rossoneri squad.
Amorim's influence on the transfer market is expected to be significant, and Gonçalves is one of the players he has identified as a key target. With Gonçalves's skills and Amorim's tactical acumen, the Portuguese winger could be a great fit for Milan's attacking lineup.
