AC Milan's search for a new Head of Football continues with Markus Krösche as their top target. Despite Eintracht Frankfurt's initial rejection, Milan has maintained contact with Krösche and his assistant Timmo Hardung. The Rossoneri are exploring options to persuade Frankfurt to let go of their sporting director, but so far, there has been no indication of a change in the German club's stance.
The timing of the negotiations is crucial, with Frankfurt unwilling to lose their key director in the middle of June. Milan, however, remains interested in Krösche, who has expressed his willingness to join the club. As a result, the Rossoneri are also evaluating alternative candidates, including Devin Özek, who recently left Fenerbahce.
Özek, a former pupil of Simon Rolfes at Bayer Leverkusen, has been recommended by an Italian agent. While Gerry Cardinale, Milan's owner, does not have a clear favorite, all leads remain open. Ruben Amorim, the team's coach, is working closely with the current structure at Casa Milan to identify potential signings and strengthen the squad.
The delay in appointing a Head of Football has put Milan behind schedule in their planning for the upcoming season. With or without Krösche, the club will need to make up for lost ground before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
