Ruben Amorim is exploring the use of existing players to get more out of his AC Milan squad. The coach plans to evaluate those already in-house, to explore ways to use players that perhaps didn’t even exist until a few weeks ago. This approach could yield interesting solutions and allow money to be shifted elsewhere. The first three names on the list are Christopher Nkunku, Samu Chukwueze and Yunus Musah.

Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system seems tailor-made for Nkunku to play in the attacking midfield role behind the striker. Chukwueze’s return from his loan spell at Fulham didn’t seem like it would lead to a permanent stay, but the tactical change has put him on a different level. The Nigerian’s position in the attacking midfield is also interesting, although the manager is currently testing him on the right flank as a wing-back.

The rest of the players hoping to convince Amorim are Yunus Musah, Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto, all of whom are returning from their respective loans. Amorim will evaluate them carefully, always with a view to the right flank in the 3-4-2-1. The American’s name is the most at risk of leaving still, with Lazio linked.

The young talents Camarda and Comotto are also in the evaluation phase, and it remains to be seen if they can rely on them for the upcoming season or if they are players destined to leave again. Amorim is in the evaluation phase and it will be interesting to see how these internal resources develop.
