AC Milan have agreed to appoint Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, with the Portuguese tactician signing a contract until June 2028. The deal, which was finalized through a digital signing, includes a base salary of €3.2 million per season, with performance-related clauses adding to his earnings. A bonus of €500,000 is on offer if Amorim leads the team to Champions League qualification, while winning the Scudetto would net him an additional €1 million.
Amorim's agreement includes an option for a third year, which could be triggered based on certain conditions. The new coach will begin working with his squad through video calls before arriving in Italy. This approach allows Amorim to start building relationships with his players, including star forward Rafael Leao, despite being geographically distant.
The digital signing was a practical solution given the current circumstances, with key figures like Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic unavailable to oversee the process in person. Their absence, due to commitments in America, made a digital approach the most efficient way to finalize the deal.
Amorim's appointment marks a new era for AC Milan, with fans eagerly anticipating his tactical approach and how he will develop the team's young talent. The Portuguese coach has a reputation for innovative tactics and fostering growth in his players, which could bode well for Milan's future success.
