AC Milan will see Ismael Bennacer leave the squad as part of a summer overhaul. Bennacer has effectively been absent from the team for some time, with injuries limiting his playing time and preventing him from regaining his previous form under Stefano Pioli.
The Algerian midfielder had expressed his desire to move on at the end of the January 2025 mercato, and subsequently joined Dinamo Zagreb. Despite his importance to the team in the past, Bennacer's departure has been a matter of when, not if.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Bennacer will leave AC Milan on a mutual contract termination and sign with Al Shamal Sports Club. The Qatari side is working on final details to complete the deal this week.
Bennacer's exit marks a significant change for the team, as they look to rebuild and move forward without one of their former key players.
