Milan’s position on surplus players is now clear. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gerry Cardinale allegedly communicated a precise line on Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana and Santiago Gimenez: if the three remain at Milanello after September 1, they would still be outside Ruben Amorim’s technical project. Their exclusion from the list submitted to Lega Serie A confirms a choice far from temporary.

For Tomori, whose contract runs until 2027, the only route is a permanent transfer. Aston Villa made an inquiry but then withdrew. Juventus is watching with interest, but there is no concrete negotiation at the moment.

Regarding Fofana, there is interest from the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brighton having asked for information. None has yet submitted an offer. The Frenchman has also ruled out a return to his home country.

Finally there is Gimenez, who is waiting for Porto. The Portuguese first attempt, a loan with an option to buy for €15 million, was rejected by Milan. The Rossoneri are asking for at least €20 million and more favourable conditions to turn the option into an obligation.
