AC Milan is set to begin contacts for Sporting's Francisco Trincao, a technically gifted forward and a specific request from new head coach Ruben Amorim. Trincao has a €60 million release clause in his deal, which expires in 2026, and Amorim has seen him at his best during their previous collaboration. The Portuguese forward has had at least 15 goal contributions in his last three seasons, making him a potential fantastic addition to Milan's attack.
Milan's attack needs to be balanced, as seen when Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic went quiet. Amorim's desire to sign Trincao is increased given his past success with the player. At 26, Trincao is entering the prime of his career, and there will be no real pressure to sell from Sporting.
The move may be a long shot, but Amorim will have to consider it, especially with it not being his only request. Milan is expected to start negotiations soon, and the outcome remains to be seen.
Trincao's potential addition could bring a new level of technical ability to Milan's attack, and Amorim's familiarity with the player could make the transition smoother.
