The situation of Rafael Leao at Milan is becoming clearer. In the last month, Ruben Amorim has observed the entire squad and, along with Gerry Cardinale, has defined the players considered outside the project: Odogu, Tomori, Fofana, and Nkunku. Leao is not formally on this list, but his position is particular. According to Peppe Di Stefano on Sky Sport 24, Amorim's main idea is to separate from Leao.
The most important news is the valuation of the player. In recent weeks, Milan had set the bar between 50 and 60 million euros. Now the request has dropped, and the club would be willing to let Leao go for a figure between 40 and 45 million.
The Milan lowers the price: now 40-45 million is enough
This reduction in the request could completely change the scenario. Just yesterday, there was an important contact between Hendrik Almstadt and Leao's entourage. The Rossoneri manager would have reiterated the club's desire to favor Leao's exit, who had already expressed his desire to change air at the beginning of summer.
From Turkey may come the turning point
At this point, eyes are focused mainly on Turkey, from where a new attempt could arrive to satisfy Milan, the player, and the interested club. However, a fundamental aspect remains: if a sale is not concretized, Amorim would not leave Leao out of the squad. Unlike what happened with Nkunku, the coach would work to find a tactical position for him within his system. But the preferred direction of the coach seems now evident: the first choice, Leao's farewell.
Meanwhile, Rafa will not be on the field against Manchester United in Poland due to a thigh injury. An absence that arrives just when his future in Rossonero has become one of the hottest topics in the market.
