AC Milan had considered signing Ayyoub Bouaddi, a highly promising Moroccan midfielder, following a recommendation from Paulo Fonseca. The 2007-born player had impressed Fonseca during his time at Lille, where he made his professional debut at just 17 years old. However, Milan's management at the time did not pursue the transfer, and now Bouaddi's value has skyrocketed to €70 million.
Bouaddi has been making waves at the World Cup, particularly in Morocco's opening match against Brazil, where he was named man of the match. Despite the presence of experienced players like Hakimi and Brahim Diaz, Bouaddi stole the show. His future is now linked to Davide Ancelotti, who will coach Lille next season, but if he maintains his current level, he may end up at a top European club.
Bouaddi's rise to prominence began last October with a standout performance in the Europa League against Roma. He has since continued to develop his technical and athletic skills, earning a regular spot in the Moroccan national team. In his last season with Lille, he made 42 appearances, accumulating 3153 minutes on the pitch. Milan still monitors his progress, but Lille's current asking price makes a transfer unlikely.
The Rossoneri had kept Bouaddi on their radar, validating Fonseca's initial scouting report, but the opportunity to sign him has now slipped through their fingers.
