AC Milan are working to strengthen their defense with the signing of Mario Gila, a Spanish central defender currently playing for Lazio. The Rossoneri have already made an initial offer for the player, but it was rejected by the Biancocelesti, who are looking for a fee of at least 30 million euros.

Gila's contract with Lazio runs until 2027, but the player has expressed his desire not to renew his agreement, which has led Milan to accelerate their pursuit. The club has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with the player and is now trying to agree a fee with Lazio.

The distance between Milan's offer and Lazio's valuation of the player is around five million euros. The Serie A club will need to increase their bid if they want to secure the signing of Gila and present him to new coach Ruben Amorim.

Lazio's stance is also influenced by an agreement with Real Madrid, which includes a clause entitling the Spanish club to 50% of any future transfer fee.
