AC Milan have announced the signing of Spanish defender Mario Gila, who joins from Lazio on a five-year contract. Gila, 23, completed medical tests and signed the deal at Casa Milan, marking the end of his transfer to the Rossoneri. He will wear the number 34 jersey, which he also wore during his time at Lazio.
Gila's arrival bolsters Ruben Amorim's defensive options, following the signing of Gonçalo Ramos. The Portuguese coach can now count on another key player as he builds a competitive squad for the new season. The transfer fee for Gila was around €27.5 million.
The defender will begin working with the rest of the team in the coming weeks, integrating into Amorim's tactics and preparing for the start of the season. This signing represents an important addition to Milan's defensive unit, which is set to be a cornerstone of the team's new project.
Gila's move to Milan marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to make an impact in the Italian league.
