Goncalo Ramos, Milan striker, wanted to give some statements to UEFA's official microphones
A few days from his debut in the Europa League League Phase, scheduled for Wednesday evening at 21:00 at San Siro, the atmosphere at Milan is very sparkling. For Goncalo Ramos, however, the clash against Benfica is not a normal match, but a true encounter with the past.
Milan, the words of Ramos
Interviewed by UEFA microphones, the Portuguese forward of the Rossoneri wanted to clarify his position regarding the extremely high expectations that the whole Milan faithful have placed on him. The Portuguese, former PSG player, has become the most expensive footballer in the entire history of the Devil.
The figures of the deal that brought him to Italy do not seem to weigh on the shoulders of the 2001-born. Instead, Ramos focuses heavily on the team's individual and collective objectives:
«Honestly no, I don't feel the pressure of being the highest paid ever at Milan. Certainly there is pressure, but I think it exists because I represent a great club, with the need to win trophies. I don't think there is a greater pressure than that. There is no time to think about who is the most expensive player or the cost of this or that, the important thing is that we win every week. At the end of the season this is what we, our fans and everyone around us will remember: if we win, if we are champions, if we have had a good season. I think this is the most important thing.»
These are words of a true leader that sweep away any alibi linked to the transfer figures, shifting the focus solely to the field. Now the talk moves exclusively to the pitch. Starting Wednesday, Ramos has a very important mission: to finally unlock himself and drag the Devil forward with goals.
Milan, the Ramos enigma: zero shots in big matches. How to unlock the Portuguese bomber?
