Aldo Serena has drawn up for La Stampa his grid for the new Serie A, analysing the ambitions of the big clubs and focusing on the Rossoneri.

Interviewed by La Stampa, the former footballer Aldo Serena expressed his analysis ahead of the new Serie A season, indicating the teams favoured for the title race and those that could surprise. According to the former striker, Inter still starts ahead of everyone thanks to the quality of the squad and an already consolidated style of play, while Milan remains a team in evolution after the change of coach and the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

Serena highlighted that the Portuguese coach needs players suited to his football idea, with possible changes still to be completed in the Milan roster.

THE SCUDETTO GRID AND AMORIM'S MILAN, « Inter is still absolutely the favourite, both for the individual qualities of the players and for the proven game. The signings of Stones and Spence add international experience. Napoli is a step below Inter. In the transfer market they have done very little, but handing the bench to someone with great experience like Allegri could pay off. I think they can benefit from Conte’s work, as happened about ten years ago at Juventus. Milan now, however, has Amorim: one of those ‘educator’ coaches, who need functional players. Some have arrived and others will leave, among them I believe Leao ».

JUVENTUS, ROMA AND COMO: SERENA'S JUDGMENT, « Juventus? They will have to do everything to reach the Champions League spot missed last season. Having Spalletti from the start can certainly add something extra. I would say they are a top‑four team. Roma, on the other hand? It will not be easy, the coach will need three or four more pieces to have rotations. There is also Como: I place them on the same level as Roma ».

TORINO AND FLORENTINA, POSSIBLE SURPRISES, « The Granata will try to confirm last year’s performance and give some satisfaction to the fans, I watch the Viola with great curiosity. They moved very well in the market and Kean, unlike last year, will be able to return to the centre and have a great season ».

According to Serena, the new championship therefore looks very balanced, with Inter still ahead of the rivals and several teams ready to fight for a place in the upper part of the table. Milan, however, will be called upon to complete the transformation path wanted by Amorim, with the market and the adaptation of players to the new philosophy being decisive.
