The long pause reserved for national team commitments continues, with numerous Milan players scattered around the world defending their countries' colours. Among the most anticipated protagonists is undoubtedly Luka Modric, leader and captain of Croatia, who immediately became a fundamental pillar and a charismatic guide for Milan.

I am trying to manage him in the best way for the team. It is impossible for a player of that age to always play at that intensity. The only thing I can say is that Luka trains like a youngster, with a desire and enthusiasm that please everyone. He loves football, he loves being on the pitch and that is fundamental for us. I am really happy to have him in the group.

Many things are still missing, and I say it without hesitation. We aim to dominate the game more consistently, we play well at times but we still have a lot to do. I do not like hearing this talked about as Amorim's Milan: Milan is Milan, it has a history and an identity that goes beyond a coach's name. I want a recognizable team, capable of winning even when things do not go perfectly. We are still far from our potential, but we need time and continuity. We have many matches, we must win and improve in parallel, and it is not easy.

We must improve as a team to create more chances, but this is not a discussion that only concerns Camarda and Gonçalo. I do not differentiate between players, age or minutes do not matter. Ramos, if you watch each match closely, has already had interesting situations, and he is also doing well for the national team: the last goal against Denmark decided the match. He is showing his worth. My main concern is to create more chances for all my players: for Pulisic, for Camarda, for Cissé. It is a team effort.

It is not a concern, because we must adapt to what happens in our world and there is not much we can do. Two or three weeks change little. We have time to work with some players who need it, and the opportunity to see others who in the future could help us. If there is a real concern, it does not concern the three weeks of break: it concerns the number of matches that await us from now on. That worries me more, together with the rhythm we will have to maintain.

I will always try to field the best lineup for each match, also considering what might be needed in the second half of the game. Looking at these first five matches, it is already clear that all players who came off the bench have had a positive impact. We cannot think only of the eleven starters. Moreover, with two days between matches it is impossible to rely always on the same ones: we must have everyone ready, and we work on this every day.
