Three AC Milan players are expected to start for their respective national teams this evening, including the midfield veteran Luka Modric.

We are now in the second phase of this long international break, with most teams playing their third game (out of a total of four) this weekend. Adrien Rabiot and Mike Maignan featured for France yesterday, and three players will be in action tonight.

The players in question are Zachary Athekame, Ardon Jashari and Luka Modric. Some might not include the right-back in the usual lists of today’s schedule, but he’s still fully owned by Milan so it only makes sense to include him.

Three Milan starters

All three are expected to play from start, with Modric returning from the first minute after sitting out Croatia’s game against Spain (he came off the bench late). Athekame and Jashari, meanwhile, will continue the trend of starting every game for Switzerland this break so far.

Croatia are taking on England at 18:00 CEST, hoping to leapfrog the Three Lions in the standings, while Switzerland are up against Slovenia at 20:45. Murat Yakin’s side have won both games 3-0, so it remains to be seen if they can replicate that again tonight (would be very impressive).
