Alphadjo Cisse’s rise continues, as he scored a potentially big goal for Italy U21s to help them edge past Armenia.

After scoring a hat‑trick in a warm‑up game a few days ago, Cisse decided the U21 European Championship qualifier off the bench. He came on at the break and turned things around after what was a difficult opening 45 minutes for the Azzurrini.

Firstly, the Milan playmaker hit the woodwork with a powerful curling shot from outside the box. Then, he won a penalty (which Koleosho would miss), and finally he scored the winning goal in the 95th minute with a brilliant left‑footed shot into the top corner.

All this came while the 20‑year‑old was being constantly manhandled by his opponents throughout the second half. Food for thought for Roberto Mancini, who was believed to be considering him for a senior call‑up too.
