Juventus have failed to convince Franck Kessie, a former AC Milan man, to join the club and are now reportedly ready to turn to Youssouf Fofana instead.

Due to the injury of Khephren Thuram, as well as the squad depth in general, Juventus are looking to bolster their midfield this summer. The only problem is that they are working within strict financial parameters, which has indeed made things difficult.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport , the free agent and former Milan player Franck Kessie was the main target for the role. A couple of days ago, a meeting took place between the parties and a two-year contract worth €3.5m per year was tabled. Now, however, that offer has been rejected.

Loan move to Juventus?

Due to the financial restrictions, Juventus made it very clear to the Ivorian that they wouldn’t be able to offer more than that. Therefore, as the newspaper points out, the transfer can be considered more or less collapsed for now.

Instead, Juve’s Plan B is believed to be Youssouf Fofana, who has been excluded from the squad as Milan are looking to sell him before the window closes. He could be a last‑minute option for the Bianconeri, who would only be able to sign him on loan (if there are no sales).

The Rossoneri likely won’t be keen on that formula, but they might be forced if there are no other suitors. Perhaps conditions can be included to easily make it an obligation to buy, if an option is added in the first place, that is.
