AC Milan loanees Youssouf Fofana and Zchary Athekame both got on the scoresheet yesterday for Sevilla and Lyon respectively, with the Frenchman getting his first for the side.
Because of the ‘Bomb Squad’ approach in the summer, quite a few players ended up leaving Milan on loan . A few of them left with buy-out clauses, with the Rossoneri hoping that they will redeemed, but there were also some dry loan moves.

Fofana is one of them, having joined Sevilla late on deadline day, and Athekame is another. The latter wasn’t part of the bomb squad as he left to get more playing time, but it seems the loan moves have had a positive effect regardless of the intention.
Yesterday, Fofana got his first goal for Sevilla as he headed in the opener against Barcelona. They lost the game in the end, but the Frenchman has quickly become a likeable player at the club.
Athekame, meanwhile, added to his fantastic start to the season with a goal and an assist against Stade Rennes yesterday. He’s now on two goals and two assists after six games, which is very impressive for a right-back.
You can see the goal below, but the assist came after a nice run on the right-hand side and a cut-back to the edge of the box (a really well-taken shot).
