Perhaps Gasperini had sensed everything last July, when he placed Diego Moreira on the list of targets for Roma. The young Belgian talent, in fact, is showing that he is particularly comfortable in Serie A. Against Lazio, in fact, his first two Serie A goals arrived.

According to Tuttosport, the Belgian player has been used, most of the time, as a substitute. The only start came against Juventus, where the player had not really shone, when the coach inserted him as a right winger.

Then the turning point came against Lazio, where Moreira came on at halftime as a left winger, changing the course of the match thanks to a splendid brace. Against Benfica, he was used again on the left, while against Lecce Amorim placed him between the wing and the attacking midfield, obtaining the goal of the 3-0.

The balance is truly positive: 3 goals in just 4 appearances, with a total of 159 minutes collected. Numbers of a genuine top scorer. The question, however, arises spontaneously: can Moreira be used only as a substitute? An answer is very difficult.

Today's group-stage football requires rotations, and obviously, starters who can play every match no longer exist. The speed, talent and dribbling shown by Moreira, however, are factors that, if added together, should be used on the field from the first minute of play.

Everything, however, will depend on what Amorim chooses. In a 3-4-2-1, with Chukweuze on the right, it becomes more complicated to find some space for Moreira on the left wing without unbalancing the team. The situation changes with a 4-2-3-1: Moreira could become a solution on the left in the attacking trident.
