The new era at Milan is undergoing a genuine revolution at every level of the club’s corporate and technical structure. While the first team is now led by coach Ruben Amorim, marking a clear shift from the previous season under Massimiliano Allegri, the Milan Futuro project has also decided to turn a new page and break with the past. The bench of the Rossoneri’s second team has therefore been entrusted to Spanish coach Sergio Navarro.
The native of Huelva wanted to share his working philosophy and the way he manages the young talents at his disposal, explaining that he gives them great expressive freedom on the pitch and shows unwavering confidence in the human and technical abilities of the whole group.
"They don’t make mistakes, they are better than me. And if I intervene to correct, it’s my ego speaking. Instead I trust my boys. For me all the boys I train can become starters at Milan. All have the potential and the conviction to succeed. Plazzotta and Pandolfi, for example, have football in their heads, they watch what happens on the field before us. The players may not be refined but everyone has great emotional intelligence for the game, to understand what is happening in the match, otherwise they wouldn’t be here."
