Christian Pulisic's World Cup journey with the US national team has come to a painful end. The Milan attacker suffered a severe ankle injury during the round of 16 match against Belgium, which ended in a disappointing defeat.
Pulisic expressed his frustration and disappointment in an interview with ESPN, revealing the extent of his injury: 'I completely sprained my ankle and knee in one play. It's just bad luck. I have time to rest.' He also acknowledged his own underperformance, saying he was 'deluded' by his own display.
The American forward remained optimistic about his future, praising his team's efforts and vowing to bounce back stronger. He emphasized that the team had shown promising signs, but ultimately fell short against a strong Belgian side.
Pulisic will now return to Milan and prepare for the upcoming season, looking to put his World Cup woes behind him and make a positive impact on the Rossoneri.
