In the post‑match conference after Sassuolo‑Milan, Ruben Amorim spoke. These were his words:

There are many reasons. The important thing is that after the goal we should have managed the ball better, but instead we tried to press as we did and often found ourselves in one‑on‑one situations. There were no clear situations. These are things difficult to understand but they happen. We conceded a corner but we cannot concede that goal. In the second half we turned the match into transitions. There are several things to improve.

Because I do not think you attack more if you have more forwards. More midfielders sometimes help you attack more. Why, after the equaliser, did I not put another striker? I wanted to play in the same way we were playing. Because it is not important who creates the chances. It is a moment. We must understand how the game changes after a goal. We tried to do it, but in the three minutes before the goal we made wrong decisions.

I do not know if it is a mentality, because I do not know if the discourse is 'I scored, so I defend'. I think it is a matter of experience, but we must close the match, kill it, take the time when we need it. There will be things we will improve during the season, but there are things we should have done better in this start.

Sometimes yes, but not in this match. In other matches I have seen it more than today, but I think we are also a team that sometimes loses intensity but then comes back into the game. We are trying to play in different ways and we will improve.
