Mario Gila, new signing for Milan, gave a long interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. He discussed his injury, his choice to join Milan, and his feelings about the team.

Gila said: «I have lived a strange month, unfortunately I got hurt during the preparation. Two years ago I spent two months injured at Lazio and it had happened to me in previous years… I feel better and I am very happy because the team has a positive energy. When I entered the field I felt good with everyone and I think this helped me».

About his integration into the group, Gila said: «I was welcomed greatly by everyone. I am often seen smiling and joking with my teammates because I felt at ease from the first training session at Milanello. There is a positive atmosphere and I could not have asked for more».

Gila also talked about his relationship with the coach: «Yes, with the coach I felt at ease immediately. He is a technician who likes to talk to everyone, who tries to take care of relationships also outside the field. I think this is a very important factor within a team».

About what Milan means to him, Gila said: «Arriving here for me means realizing a dream. Since I was a child, like everyone, I thought of becoming a player, but arriving at these levels… it is not easy. So it is a dream. Now I try to be positive, to integrate quickly, to talk to all my teammates. I am very happy to be at Milan. We have a good team and, even if I do not know what the club wants to do until the end of the market, I am convinced that our group is competitive».

Gila was also asked about the role of Tare and Allegri in his decision to join Milan: «Yes, certainly. A very important factor in this decision was Tare. I thank him very much because he was one of the people who helped me the most in my career and certainly put my name in the mind of Milan from the start, already in March, when there were still many months left until the end of the season».

Gila concluded by saying: «For me, not winning does not exist. If this mentality, this desire to go forward match after match in the league and in the Europa League, enters all of us, we will be able to get some satisfaction and certainly give some joy to our fans».
