The AC Milan squad were straight back into training on Monday after the win over Torino, and a surprise face joined them: Akram Jadid.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recall how the first team immediately returned to work after the win in Turin. Those who played on Sunday evening had a recovery session, while the others, with the exception of the injured Rafael Leao, now being linked with Aston Villa, did normal work.

Ruben Amorim must prepare for the next match against Venezia, on Friday evening at San Siro. The Portuguese coach is expecting Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic to be in better shape. They started on the bench in Turin because they’re not yet in top form after playing in the World Cup.

Perhaps the match at San Siro against the Venetians will also be an opportunity to witness the debut of Diego Moreira, the latest arrival of the summer transfer window. The Belgian sat on the bench on Sunday, which is normal considering he only trained for the first time with AC Milan on Thursday.

With a few more days of work, Amorim will be able to figure out how to fit him into his tactical plans, even if he might start from the bench again. The coach’s post-match comments suggested he is seen more as a right wing-back, where Samuel Chukwueze is doing well.

A new face

The real surprise from Monday’s training session was the presence of Akram Jadid, a striker born in 2011. Amorim had the opportunity to see him up close for the first time, and he certainly comes with a reputation .

Jadid boasts impressive stats in the Milan youth sector. He has scored around 700 goals, despite almost always playing above his age group compared to his team-mates and opponents.

He won the Under 15 national title just a few weeks ago as Milan triumphed in the final against Empoli (2-0, with the Italian-Moroccan striker inevitably scoring).
