Some more details have emerged from AC Milan’s behind-closed-doors friendly game against Padova this afternoon.

We know that the result was 1-1, with Lorenzo Ossola’s second-half goal being cancelled out late on by Sgarbi for the Venetian side. Above all it was a fitness exercise, but it was an opportunity for the coach Ruben Amorim to experiment with the players remaining at his disposal.

Amorim continues experiments

MilanNews report that Amorim fielded his team with a four-man defence, similar to what happened against Lecce in the final game before the international break, at least in terms of the in-possession shape seen.

In front of goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano, the central defenders were Matteo Gabbia and Mario Gila, while Fikayo Tomori was tested at right-back, a role that he has occasionally performed as a Milan player. Sankhoun Diawara was deployed at the opposite flank as the left-back.

The midfield trio consisted of Christian Comotto at the base, then Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Filippo Terracciano either side. Up front, the attacking trio consisted of Christian Pulisic, Yahya Idrissi and Omari Hutchinson.

Given the amount of absentees due to international call-ups, Amorim also had a look at more young players. Lorenzo Ossola, who scored the goal, Nirash Perera and Silvano Vos also came on during the match.
