Luka Modric may leave AC Milan next summer when his contract expires and the club are already looking at who could fill his boots.

However, he was asked about retirement today and his reply wasn’t the usual ‘I’m still feeling fine’. Instead, he said that he didn’t know if he’d leave in ‘a month or in a year’, coincidentally around the same time that his deal ends at San Siro.
In other words, the Rossoneri already have to start planning, if they haven’t already, for life after the Croatian.
Scott the dream
According to TMW , the Rossoneri have ‘set their sights’ on Alex Scott to fill the role that Modric will leave. He’s seen as the ‘forbidden dream’, with plenty of interest from the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
To the Diavolo, though, he represents a dream to replace Modric with a ‘large investment’ for the future. Bournemouth are already lining up replacement ideas too, so it seems likely that he’ll depart in the near future. Maybe things will line up in Milan’s favour and he’ll get the chance to impress them in person in the Europa League …
