Milan looks to the winter market for a new offensive element and the name that has emerged in recent hours is Ermedin Demirovic. The Bosnian centre‑forward of Stuttgart represents a very different profile compared to the attackers currently available to Ruben Amorim, especially in physical characteristics and way of interpreting the role.

Born in 1998, Demirovic has built an important reputation in the Bundesliga thanks to his ability to combine physical presence, work for the team and goal‑scoring. After spells with Alavés, St. Gallen and Freiburg, he found continuity especially with Augsburg, before moving to Stuttgart in 2024. In his first season with the German club he confirmed the qualities that had convinced the management: a striker capable of playing with his back to goal, attacking the area and taking part in offensive build‑up.

Milan today has Gonçalo Ramos as the main reference in the forward line. The Portuguese striker guarantees deep movements, technical quality and ability to link with teammates, but Amorim could also need an alternative with different characteristics. And it is precisely in this scenario that Demirovic could represent an interesting solution.

Demirovic, the ideal Ramos deputy for Amorim's system

In Amorim’s football the central striker is not only called upon to score. He must be the team’s first defender, occupy spaces well, participate in pressing and create links with the wide attackers. Demirovic, from this point of view, would have compatible characteristics.

The Bosnian is a structured centre‑forward, able to shield the ball and allow the team to advance. In a side that wants to develop play through possession and immediate ball recovery, having an offensive reference capable of winning physical duels can become an important weapon.

Compared to Ramos, Demirovic would probably offer more weight inside the penalty area and a more evident presence in direct‑play situations. He would therefore not be a simple substitute, but a tactical variant to face different opponents and match moments.

A significant investment to complete the Rossoneri attack

Stuttgart’s asking price, estimated around 35 million euros, however makes the deal complex. Milan will have to evaluate carefully whether to invest a significant sum for a player initially destined to start behind Ramos in the hierarchy.

The season could nevertheless change the scenarios. The close‑spaced commitments and the need to keep a high level in all competitions could make it essential to have two reliable centre‑forwards. Amorim has shown he wants to involve the whole squad and a player like Demirovic could find space even without being immediately the starter.

His arrival would represent a precise choice: add to Milan a more physical striker, capable of changing the team’s face when the match requires greater offensive presence. Ramos would remain the main reference, but Demirovic could become that second solution that is missing today.

For his characteristics, international experience and knowledge of German football, the Bosnian would have the profile to complete the department. The real question will be to understand whether Milan will deem it appropriate to invest a significant sum for a support role, or wait for a different opportunity in the winter market.
