AC Milan have held talks with the representatives of Viktor Gyokeres over a potential reunion with Ruben Amorim, according to a report.

According to the latest from the Daily Briefing, the feeling is growing that Gyokeres might not even see out the season with Arsenal, given that he has lost his starting spot and has played just 12 minutes of action in the Premier League so far.

Gyokeres wants out?

Sources ‘with ties to the agents industry’ have informed them that the former Sporting CP start is ‘unhappy with the current situation’. While Arsenal want to keep hold of him, the lack of a leading role could become a problem.

As per the source, Milan have held initial discussions about the idea of reuniting him with Amorim at the San Siro, after the links last year. Juventus are keen too, but both clubs are ‘only thought to be considering a loan, which would not suit Arsenal’.

Saudi Arabia might be an option for the Swede given that Al Ahli and Al Ittihad are keen and could offer the cash for a permanent transfer, though there is nothing even close to advanced with any of the four interested clubs.

In the meantime, the Gunners are casting their eyes elsewhere, while the 28-year-old ‘feels undervalued’ by the club. The summer links with Julian Alvarez and Victor Osimhen were a sign of this, while Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi ‘has long been on Arsenal’s radar’.

"But if Gyokeres does end up moving, that could open some interesting doors, and I’m confident it’s very much one to keep an eye on," the piece concludes. No price tag is mentioned for Gyokeres, but he did head to London for €63m plus €10m in bonuses.

Gyokeres scored 66 goals and provided 23 assists in 68 appearances under Amorim during their time together at Sporting CP.
