The friendly match between Manchester United and Milan has just ended, here are the player ratings from the match played at the Tarczyński Arena in Breslavia.
TOP, Torriani, Jashari, Chukwueze e Goncalo Ramos
Among the positive notes from this game, we must start with Torriani. The young Rossoneri goalkeeper, absolute starter this summer, has once again shown himself and we would not be surprised, given the events related to Maignan, to see him defend the Devil's goal also against Torino. It must be said that on Maguire's goal he could have done more, but soon after come excellent saves and that penalty disarmed against Bruno Fernandes.
We must also highlight, and well, the performance of Ardon Jashari. The Swiss midfielder stands out with a performance of great intensity and some real leadership. In fact, Chukwueze's equalizing goal, which deserves a unique discussion, was born from his high ball recovery. Will he be the starter in Milan's midfield? After the last season with more lows than highs, we hope so.
Now, let's talk about Chukwueze. Let's start from a premise: in games like this, with Milan dominating possession and the opponent barricaded in their own half, he can make a difference. Against United, he first scores the 1-1 goal, then gives Cissè the ball for the 2-2, and finally allows Goncalo Ramos to score his first Rossoneri goal. The one-on-one spark is there, as are the insertions into the half-spaces. What is he missing? Defensive attention, and that's why, perhaps, in Serie A he won't be able to play all games as an outsider.
We cannot, finally, fail to mention Goncalo Ramos. We are in August and it is still too early to baptize the Portuguese striker as the best player in the entire Rossoneri squad, however, the qualities are evident. The offensive department, in his presence, changes shape: it attacks depth, scales to midfield to unite the departments and in the penalty area is a constant threat. Has Milan finally found that 20-goal striker for the season? We hope so.
FLOP, Musah, Terracciano e Pavlovic
We're back to Musah being among the Flop. The image of the performance of the American midfielder is all in the marking of Maguire on his goal. First, he is physically overwhelmed by the English defender and then lets him escape on the header that puts Manchester United ahead. For the rest, a performance with few highlights, a lot of fear of making mistakes, and constant confusion about his role on the field. This is not how it should be.
We also include the Terracciano-Pavlovic duo. Ruben Amorim asks his defenders for greater quality in ball control, but both commit serious errors. The first launches into dribbling in his own penalty area (including the blunder that will lead to Bruno Fernandes' penalty kick, then saved by Torriani), and gives the ball away to opponents (see Dorgu's goal), while the second suffers terribly when he finds himself under pressure from the opponents.
