AC Milan have some concerns about their wing-back options and they could address them by signing a free agent, a report claims. Tuttosport recall that yesterday’s 1-1 derby draw against Inter in Perth revealed one of the biggest gaps in Milan’s current squad: the lack of dependable wing-backs for Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
Weak on the wings, Pervis Estupinan and Samuel Chukwueze were among the worst performers in the friendly against Inter. Both failed to provide cover at the back and creating little going forward. Zachary Athekame didn’t play due to some physical problems while, Alexis Saelemaekers didn’t play badly. Davide Bartesaghi was given a rough time by Andy Diouf, not a natural wing-back. At the start of the transfer window, Amorim had told the management that a starting right and left winger would be needed, but the mercato has remained at a standstill because of a lack of sales. The newspaper mentions Raphael Guerreiro, available on a free after being released by Bayern Munich.
