Newcastle did not make a bid and the German club has therefore definitively outpaced the competition for Nkunku.

Christopher Nkunku is increasingly close to a return to Leipzig. The route that leads to the Bundesliga is now the one destined to materialise, after Newcastle, still interested in the player, did not present the necessary bid to challenge the German club's offer.

Milan has therefore decided to proceed with Leipzig, with the deal expected to be finalised in the coming hours. The transfer will also allow the Rossoneri to free up a place at Milanello, thus ending the Italian experience of the French striker.

NKUNKU TO LEIPZIG: FIGURES AND TERMS

The transfer will be completed with a loan with an obligation to buy, for a fee of 3.5 million euros, while the buy‑out clause will be set at an amount below 30 million euros. This was reported by Matteo Moretto, who also provided updates on the timing of the deal.

Milan and Leipzig are indeed preparing to exchange documents in the coming hours, a step that will allow the Rossoneri to officially give the green light to Nkunku's departure to Germany.

Once the bureaucratic process is completed, the Frenchman will travel to Leipzig to undergo medical examinations within the next 24, 48 hours. Thus, Nkunku is preparing to return to the club where he reached the highest levels.
