The battle to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Samuele Inacio is heating up, and AC Milan have registered their interest in him.

Calciomercato.com write that Inacio is no longer a new name in Italian football. The talented youngster, born in 2008 and the son of Inacio Pià (a striker who played at Napoli, Catania, and Atalanta) has exploded into prominence over the past two years.

He even made his debut for the Italian senior national team in the now-famous friendlies led by interim coach Silvio Baldini. Having developed in the Atalanta youth academy, at 16 he was snapped up at a bargain price by Borussia Dortmund, who brought him to Germany with an ambitious plan.

Last year, he made his first-team debut and scored his first Bundesliga goal, which led the German club to secure his contract extension until June 2029.

Italian giants circle

Inacio began the season this year without fear and with a desire to increase his playing time and experience. However, he has played only three minutes in the Bundesliga this season, and the summer change of agent led him to start listening to the calls arriving from Italy.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus have made concrete moves in recent days, taking advantage of Edoardo Crnjar’s brokerage to bring Randal Kolo Muani back to the Bianconeri. They have also enquired about his new client, Inacio, and are ready to explore a move.

Milan were the first to make a move a year ago and their interest remains in the background, but the fiercest rival to Juve is effectively Inter. With the work of Dario Baccin, they will have to try to expand the list of young Italians to include in the squad.

In the summer, former sporting director Piero Ausilio actually made a move, but Dortmund rejected all transfer requests for him. The Nerazzurri’s plan is to acquire a second striker with 1-on-1 ability, preferably young and Italian, which Inacio is.

Milan already have a young Italian striker as the back-up to club-record signing Goncalo Ramos in Francesco Camarda. However, there have already been question marks about not having a third striker available to Amorim.
