Ahead of this weekend’s meeting at the Stadio Olimpico, Nuno Tavares spoke to the media about Lazio’s chances against an in‑form AC Milan side.
Most Milan fans won’t have fond memories of the last game against Lazio at the Olimpico. The stadium emptied, but before that, the fans would show their support against the Rossoneri for one last time until things changed.

Of course, it was that game where the Laziali turned up in an otherwise poor end to the league campaign.
Over the summer, things didn’t change enough for the ultras to return, so the Olimpico is expected to be filled with Rossoneri colours rather than Lazio’s light blue. Hopefully it will have a substantial impact on how the game goes, too.
Tavares speaks ahead of Milan
Speaking to the club’s official channels, Tavares, who was linked with a move to the Rossoneri this summer, looked ahead to this weekend’s game, as MilanPress relayed.
“I think it will be a good match. Milan is a team that is improving; they are playing good football, they have quality players and a very good coach, who makes the team play well.
“We are well prepared and very confident, because we have players and a staff that can help us get the win. Was your debut with Lazio against Milan? Yes, it was a good match. It was my first game and I had the confidence of the coach and my teammates.
“As the match went on, I felt much more confident and I felt like I could be important. I think it was a good start and I hope it can happen again.”
