One of the heaviest departures for Milan fans in recent years remains that of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle: seen as a possible future captain and one of the pillars of the project, the midfielder born in 2000 left the Devil for about 59 million euros plus other important bonuses, joining the Premier League.
"The first move happened because we had the feeling that Milan was different. I know Milan well and it did not give me the feeling of historic Milan. Talking with Sandro we reasoned about going to the Premier League, it was a challenge that fascinated him," this is the revelation of Tonali's agent Giuseppe Riso on the podcast 'Colpi da Maestro'.

The background on the farewell to Milan and Tonali's subsequent transfer
"I have known him since he arrived at Milan. The first year he did not do very well, but you could see a different boy in terms of attitude. When you are close to him you perceive that he is a champion and a great man."
A complicated choice that ultimately paid off economically for Milan, which recorded a very important capital gain. Riso and Tonali then closed another very important operation: the midfielder's move to Tottenham for more than 100 million euros, with Milan expected to have received an additional 9.66 million euros for the resale percentage set with Newcastle itself. Tonali has not started very well with the Magpies, who still have to find the thread of the knot and get used to English football.
