Interviewed by SportMediaset, Ruben Amorim, the red-and-black coach, spoke about his Milan near the end of a long break for the national teams. Below are all his statements.
ON FORMATION CHOICES, “I don’t know what will happen regarding the squad rotations I will make. I am not thinking about giving space to everyone, but about always fielding the best eleven to win.”
ON LUKA MODRIC, “When we play well it is because Luka plays well. We expect a lot from him and his age does not interest me. I am interested in what I see during the week and what I want to see on the weekends.”
ON GONCALO RAMOS, “I know he is under great pressure, he is a Milan player. He has to get used to this and I only want him to keep training as he usually does.”
ON THE FOUR-DEFENDER DEFENSE, “It is important to be able to change the playing systems. The principles are the same, it is not a question of defending with four, five or three. They are the principles, the team adapts and has shown it can do so.”
