Lazio is ready to welcome Diogo Leite. The Portuguese defender is expected tomorrow in Rome to start his new experience in biancoceleste and undergo scheduled medical exams before signing the contract.

As reported by journalist Matteo Moretto, a three-year agreement with an option that could extend his stay in the capital for a fourth season is ready for the centre-back. Once the routine checks are completed, the player can sign and make himself available to the technical staff.

Leite's arrival will allow Lazio to add a left-footed defender with international experience to a back-line that has lacked depth. The club decided to accelerate to exploit a favourable opportunity and broaden the defensive options for the coach.

In recent days the Portuguese was also proposed to Milan as a possible free-transfer opportunity. The Rossoneri considered his profile but did not turn the contacts into a real negotiation. Lazio instead moved with greater determination, reaching an agreement for the transfer.

Barring any setbacks during the medicals, Diogo Leite will soon become a new Lazio player. His arrival in Rome is set for tomorrow, after which an official announcement should follow.
