Francesco Fourneau has been named the head referee for Sassuolo-Milan, and so far, the Rossoneri have an unbeaten record with him.

After what has been a long international break, Milan will finally be back in action tomorrow evening, taking on Sassuolo away from home. While they boosted their confidence against Lecce last time out, whether the momentum has been kept alive over the break remains to be seen.

Sassuolo haven’t been the easiest opponents for Milan either, with two wins, three draws, and two defeats since the Scudetto-clinching game back in 2021-22. The Neroverdi also won the most recent game at the Mapei, scoring two goals against the Rossoneri.

No defeats so far

Nevertheless, Milan will be looking to build on the Lecce win and the choice of referee has perhaps given us a hint about the outcome. Francesco Fourneau is the man in question, as confirmed by AIA , and he has officiated seven games involving the Rossoneri in his career.

In those seven games, Milan didn’t register a single defeat with four wins and three draws so far, with the most recent one being the 3-2 win against Torino at San Siro last season. There has been no major controversy when he has been the referee either, which is good.

Let’s hope that the Rossoneri will continue their positive trend with the referee, ideally increasing the win tally rather than the draw tally.
