Leao is one step away from his farewell to Milan: here is how his transfer will weigh in terms of figures, capital gains and impact on the Rossoneri's balance sheet.
In the end the moment to part ways has truly arrived: Rafa Leão will leave Milan to join Galatasaray on the basis of about 45 million euros plus bonuses and a percentage on a future resale. The operation has a great impact on the Rossoneri's finances, capable of generating about 34,7 million euros in capital gain (also calculating the first two months of the 2026/2027 budget amortised) and of freeing about 10,5 million euros of residual management costs.
The overall positive economic effect compared to keeping the player for the whole season therefore stands at roughly 45,3 million euros.
Financial analysis and the numbers of the transfer
Delving into the published accounting data, the operation rests on very precise foundations: against an initial historic cost of 49,5 million euros, the Net Book Value on 30/06/2025 was 16,818 million euros, with an annual amortisation calculated at 5,606 million euros.
This dynamic defined a minimum transfer threshold on 30/06/2026 of 11,212 million euros. The economic agreement defined with the Turkish club based on 45 million euros therefore crystallises a capital gain on 28/08/2026 quantified at 34,7 million euros.
