With Rafael Leao’s sale seeming imminent for perhaps the first time, AC Milan have begun thinking about his replacement.

The big news of the last few hours is that Leao is picking between Aston Villa and Galatasaray. Both have had bids worth €50m (including bonuses) accepted by Milan, and so it is over to the winger to decide which project and which contract proposal he prefers.

Leao out, one in?

According to Sky , Leao’s possible departure could push Milan to make moves in the attacking midfield position. Among the players being monitored is Alvyn Sanches, a 23‑year‑old star at Young Boys who scored 10 league goals last season.

He is a player that Milan’s scouting team has been watching for some time and he is ‘ considered a good fit ‘ for Ruben Amorim’s system, especially given that he is left‑footed and the coach wants someone inverted for the right‑sided position.

Negotiations aren’t yet close to concluding, but new contacts have been made. Sanches’ name is on the list of potential reinforcements the club are currently evaluating.

However, it’s not a given that the Rossoneri will acquire a new forward in this transfer window. Instead, it is possible that evaluations could be pushed back to the winter market.
