Crossed destinies at the Rossoneri house ahead of the United States' upcoming international commitments. The head coach of the US national team, Mauricio Pochettino, has officialised the list of call‑ups for the four friendlies scheduled between late September and early October against Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada. Among the names is Yunus Musah, who regains his national team shirt thanks to a brilliant start to the season and the esteem earned from Ruben Amorim.
Regarding Christian Pulisic, the selector has agreed on his exclusion to allow the player to work at the Milanello sports centre. "It is not a rejection, but a shared choice to allow Christian to recover the best form in a dense match cycle," the US staff says. For Portuguese coach Amorim this is a valuable opportunity: to train his number 11 during the break and refine tactical schemes without additional travel fatigue.
The former Valencia midfielder returns to the centre of the American project after showing flashes of great substance and versatility in the Rossoneri midfield. The wide turnover expected from Pochettino will see Musah feature in the four friendly tests, while Pulisic will resume his rhythms with the club aiming for full starting status upon the league’s return.
