A new era begins for Belgium. New head coach Mark van Bommel, former Milan midfielder, has issued the first squad list for the Nations League matches, selecting 28 players.

Among the selected are two Milan players: Koni De Winter and Diego Moreira. Alexis Saelemaekers is not included, having been left out by the new coach after also being considered by former coach Rudi Garcia, who had taken him to the 2026 World Cup.

De Winter's call confirms the new coach's interest in the 2002‑born defender, who joined Milan in the summer and has already been part of Ruben Amorim's rotation.

Diego Moreira is also called up, after making a strong impact in the Milan shirt following his transfer from Strasbourg. The attacking winger has earned space thanks to his technical qualities and his ability to influence one‑on‑one situations.

Belgium, Nations League schedule

Belgium will play four matches during the upcoming international break. The first fixture is on 25 September against Italy, followed by a home game against France on 28 September. Then the Red Devils face Turkey on 2 October, before a second away clash with France on 5 October.
